Capital Investment Subsidy for Establishment of 500 or More Seater Convention Centre as Above cum Hotel under MICE

The Department of Tourism, Government of Madhya Pradesh, has introduced a capital investment subsidy scheme aimed at developing convention centres with a capacity of 500 or more seats, combined with hotel facilities, under the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) segment. The initiative is intended to draw private capital into large-scale convention infrastructure that is integrated with hospitality services, thereby strengthening the state’s ability to host domestic and international events.

Under the scheme, eligible applicants receive a subsidy of 15% of the fixed capital investment, subject to a maximum limit of ₹10 crore. A minimum approved capital expenditure of ₹20 crore is required to qualify. The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board is responsible for implementing the programme, managing applications and disbursements. The subsidy is expected to support economic activity, generate employment, and improve the state’s standing in the global tourism sector.

Registration Process:

• Go to the Madhya Pradesh Government's Invest Portal at sws.invest.mp.gov.in and start the registration procedure by choosing the "Vendor / Investor" option.
• Provide the necessary details by picking the relevant "Type of Organisation" (such as Public Limited Company, Private Limited, LLP, Proprietorship Firm, Partnership Firm, Cooperative, Trust, FPO, or Individual), followed by the "Firm/Company Name" and "Authorized Person Name".
• Supply a working email address and mobile number; these will be used to send the Application Number, User ID, password, and all other official correspondence.
• Finish submitting the basic registration form. The User ID and password will be delivered to the mobile number you provided.
• Access the portal with the credentials received. Complete your profile to finish the full registration before you can apply for the scheme.

Application Process:

• Obtain every necessary approval through the online single-window system within the prescribed deadlines.
• Finish the project's construction, ensuring that the minimum capital expenditure of ₹20 crore is achieved.
• Start commercial operations and collect evidence that operations have begun.
• File the capital subsidy application online within one year of the commercial operation start date. Attach all necessary paperwork, making sure it conforms to the required file formats (for instance, JPG for photographs).
• The Tourism Department/Board will subsequently review the application and supporting documents, and then handle the subsidy claim.

The Tourism Department/Board examines the application and accompanying documents to confirm that all eligibility conditions and scheme provisions are met. This review covers the capital expenditure actually incurred, adherence to Government of India specifications for convention centres, and the seating capacity. Once the verification is completed satisfactorily, the subsidy claim moves forward for payment.
