The Wildlife Conservation Trust, co-founded by Roshni Nadar Malhotra, funds habitat restoration and species recovery with over ₹16 crore in grants across 21 Indian states.
The Habitats Trust is a wildlife conservation foundation established in 2018 by Roshni Nadar Malhotra. It identifies and backs conservation groups and individuals dedicated to safeguarding India's natural habitats and native species, giving particular attention to lesser-known species and overlooked ecosystems. Since its inception, the THT Grants programme has supported more than 38 projects across 21 states and union territories, with over 16.2 crore rupees disbursed to date.
The grant offerings include the THT Conservation Grant, which supports organisations tackling conservation challenges through comprehensive project designs, and the THT Research Grant, which funds interdisciplinary research that shapes practical conservation strategies. Each grant cycle carries a total outlay of 3.5 crore rupees, with the current programme prioritising projects that address biodiversity loss, climate change, and water scarcity through innovative, replicable methods.
Conservation organisations, individual researchers, and community-led groups engaged in species recovery, habitat restoration, and applied biodiversity research across India. Grant selection favours projects centred on lesser-known species, neglected habitats, and novel approaches to climate change and biodiversity loss.
