About this program

The Innovations for Social Good and Better Bharat (ISGBB) initiative is a multi-state programme that works to strengthen regional innovation ecosystems across India. It brings together innovators, academic institutions, ecosystem partners, and community groups in a structured manner, so that the solutions developed are grounded in the actual needs of the people they are meant to serve.

Capgemini powers ISGBB, with implementation led by BharatCares in partnership with SRF Foundation. The programme focuses on technology-driven solutions and supports them through development, validation, and deployment, aiming to scale impact to a wide population. It targets priority development challenges across several Indian states.

ISGBB supports startups, social enterprises, non-profit innovation organisations, and individual innovators at the MVP or growth stage. It provides a platform for scaling and impact without offering direct monetary funding.

How applications are assessed

Applications to the Innovations for Social Good and Better Bharat (ISGBB) initiative pass through a structured review. Programme partners—BharatCares, Capgemini, and SRF Foundation—jointly examine each submission against factors including scalability, technological innovation, expected social impact, and fit with the identified development challenges. This first stage narrows the field to those solutions most aligned with the programme’s objectives.

Shortlisted applicants may then be asked to take part in further discussions or presentations to expand on their approach and impact framework. The partners hold final authority over selection, advancement within the programme, and all related outcomes; their decisions are final and binding.
