About AIC IIT Delhi (Atal Incubation Centre, IIT Delhi)

AIC IIT Delhi (Atal Incubation Centre — IIT Delhi Sonipat Innovation Foundation) is a not-for-profit Section-8 company based at the IIT Delhi Technopark in Sonipat, Haryana. It receives funding from the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) under NITI Aayog and operates as part of the broader AIC network, functioning alongside IIT Delhi's established incubation platforms, FITT and IHFC.

The incubation facility spans over 10,000 sq ft and includes a fully equipped Makerspace, design, metal fabrication and woodworking labs, wet labs and chemistry workstations, along with co-working desks, meeting rooms and pitch rooms. Startups also gain shared access to IIT Delhi's research laboratories through faculty co-supervision.

The organisation runs a 12–24 month incubation programme for technology-driven startups, preferably within their first five years, offering seed grants, makerspace access, mentoring, faculty connections and corporate-pilot opportunities. A 3-month pre-incubation sprint helps student entrepreneurs and aspiring founders validate problem statements and build MVPs. Periodic sector cohorts focus on deep-tech, climate, healthcare and defence. The primary sectors are hardware, robotics, defence and aerospace, semiconductors, healthtech, medtech, agri-machinery, IoT, advanced materials and climate hardware. Founders from across India may apply, with priority given to technology-driven startups in their first five years and ventures led by IIT Delhi students, alumni or faculty. Incubated startups receive milestone-linked seed grants of ₹10–50 lakh through AIM, with potential top-ups from partner schemes such as BIRAC, DST NIDHI-PRAYAS and Defence iDEX.
